of 'due diligence' the option to produce a Skydiving Magazine as
the vehicle for relaying information to members, should be put up
for Tender.
Subsequently, the document that provides the
criteria for tender can be found on our website here.
Tender applications are to be received no later than 5pm 30/11/2011 to the Chief Executive
Officer at ceo@apf.asn.au, or by post: PO Box 1440,

EXCERPT ONLY. CLICK HERE FOR
FULL PSB-7
Mandatory:
before next jump
Identification:
Vigil AAD, All Cutters produced in October 2007
Background:
An incident occurred on the 14th September 2011 in Canada. A
skydiver failed to deploy his main canopy and manually pulled his
reserve handle with insufficient altitude to fully deploy the
reserve canopy.
Compliance:
During the investigation of the incident it was discovered that
the loop was neither cut nor trapped by the cutter. The
preliminary report stated that the knife blade was missing.
In the interests of safety AAD has decided to recall all cutters
from their October 2007 batch.
List of serial numbers is provided on the PSB-7.
The PSB also describes a field test to be performed on any Vigil
Cutter to determine presence or lack of a knife blade.
The PSB notes that all Cutters manufactured from June 2008 have
been x-rayed as part of the quality control process.
For additional safety, the manufacturer is recommending that the
field test be performed on each cutter manufactured before June
2008.

LAIWU, CHINA 24-28
September 2011
Craig (Crash) Bennett, Jules McConnel, Andrew
(Sarge) Preston, and Michael Vaughan represented Australia in a
contingent of 28 international parachutists from 9 countries to
perform at the 2011 China International Airsports
Fiesta in Laiwu city, 500km south east of
Beijing. Represented countries include Australia, New
Zealand, Canada, Argentina, Belarus, Belgium, USA, Germany and
the Netherlands.

At the opening ceremony on Saturday 25th the World
Canopy Formation Team set a new Chinese
and Asian record by building a 25 way CF diamond.
The formation took 4 minutes to build and was held for 2 minutes!
Three Chinese built AN2 biplane aircraft flew in
formation and took 35 minutes to get to exit altitude of 9500ft.
They built the formation by 4500 - 5000 feet on most days of the
show. The weather was fantastic for all days including practice
until the final show gave us a 3000ft cloud base with sprinkling
rain, so the team managed to pull off a 4 way diamond and 3
stacks from each plane and wowed the crowd with formation
landings finishing with a parabatic display by the Canadians who
landed from a downplane precisely in front of the crowd.
The 2011 China International Airsports Fiesta is the
largest, most distinctive air sports event in China. The Fiesta
included 800 air sports pilots from over 20 countries
participating in aerobatic stunt flying, parachuting, microlight
aircraft, helicopters, hot air balloons, model aircraft and other
performances.

current VFS Open Australian Champion team "The Addicted" comprising of Kim Hopwood,
Cath Comyns, Lucas Georgiou, Tim Golsby-Smith and Scott Hiscoe
