2011/2012
Membership Renewal Time
|
|
Attention APF Members please be
advised it is ANNUAL
RENEWAL TIME! An EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT is
once again available up until midnight on the 30th June 2011
AEST.
The On-line Renewal
facility for the new membership year is now available. NOTE:
this is NOT AVAILABLE for brand new members or students.
Please familiarize yourself with the following
points to note and important changes to remember:
- We have reintroduced the
ability for members to renew their display licence online
and have addressed the issues that
previously prevented this process.
New functionality is:
a.
If you hold a Display License which has expired, it will renew
from the current date through to end of the quarter plus 12
months
b.
If your Display Rating is current, it will add 12 months from the
current expiry date
- Members who wish to
renew through to the end of this year only (June 30 2011)
will have to do so on a paper based
form.
- Individuals who do not
currently hold membership and wish to renew for the upcoming
membership year will receive the month of June at no charge,
plus the usual 12 months
Common issue with online renewal:
While we do have intermittent errors that are
usually due to connectivity issues or perhaps too many people
accessing the database at once, the most common user error
is:
· Ensure you
are not typing the word "Nil" or similar, when
completing the Malfunctions or other fields in the jump numbers field.
This field is numeric and you must type "0" not
"Nil"
· Users must
type in "APF Number and Name" or "Name and
DOB" for the entry to go through
· The First
Name and Surname must be an exact match to what has previously
been provided to the APF database
Existing Student Members
are entitled to and encouraged to take advantage of
the early bird discount however they are NOT ABLE TO UTILISE
THE ONLINE FACILITY. Student Members will need to
use Form M2 and
select the early bird full membership option.

APF Strategic Plan
|
|
Calling all Members!
The APF Board is currently developing the APF's Strategic Plan
with a series of Workshops having been conducted. At the recent
APF Conference in Cairns a workshop was held with the results of
these efforts now posted onto the APF website as a DRAFT STATEGIC
PLAN and all members are encouraged to visit this section and
make contribution in the tables provided. The APF's 'current
Strategic Plan' is also available on the APF Website for
comparison.
Why have
a Strategic Plan?
Strategic thoughts, planning and actions are
increasingly important to the continued viability and
effectiveness of 'Not for Profit' organisation such as the
APF. Without strategic planning it is unlikely that we will
be able to successfully meet the numerous challenges that face us
today and into the future. With an ever changing
environment our organisation needs to:
1.exercise as much discretion as possible in the
areas under our control to ensure responsiveness to our
stake-holders.
2.develop good strategies to deal with our changing
circumstances.
3.develop a coherent and defensible basis for all
decision making.
What is Strategic Planning?
It is a disciplined effort to produce fundamental
decisions and actions that shape the nature and direction of our
organisation's activities within legal bounds! Put simply -
identify what is TRULY important to us and then put together a
plan for how to make it all happen! Whilst it is important
to be practical it is also important to have some 'dreams' or
'visions'. It must be technically workable, politically
acceptable to key stakeholders, and must align with our
organisations philosophy and core values.
We thankyou for your input!

Expressions of Interest for new APF Malfunctions DVD
The goal is to create a new APF malfunctions DVD as a standard
for all student training drop zones. The original malfunctions
video is dated and it's time to update in line with current
equipment and teachings.
We are looking for something similar to the "Breakaway"
DVD produced a number of years ago in the States. The end product
will be a 20-30 minute DVD which covers all types of malfunctions
including the emergency procedures for DOS and SOS student
systems. The main deployment systems commonly used such as BOC,
hip and chest ripcord would also need to be incorporated.
We are also seeking any interested drop zones
wishing to sponsor this undertaking and support the successful
applicants to this venture. Any support is will be appreciated.
If you feel that you have the skills and expertise to produce
this DVD contact Don Cross on didon@internode.on.net
