Strong
Enterprises Service Bulletin #25
Subject: Y Modification (Y-Mod) to Dual Hawk Tandem
System Passenger Harness (P/N 998025)
Issue Date: March 1, 2007
Status: Mandatory in US by December 31, 2008 - Mandatory Internationally by December 31, 2011
S.E. SB #25 has only this month been posted on the
manufacturer's web site and therefore come to the attention of
the APF National Office.
S.E. apologizes for the sudden post of Service
Bulletin (SB) #25. This SB was made mandatory in the U.S.A. by
the posted date of December 31, 2008.
They have now modified the SB to specifically
mention international countries mandatory compliance by December
31, 2011.
According to S.E. the modification does not have to be
done in the U.S., it can be done in the field by qualified
riggers and/or service centres.
A number of modification kits are being organised to be sent to Australian
Strong approved Service Centres so that APF Operators using
Strong Tandems can schedule to have the modifications done in a
timely manner.
The Index of all Rigging
Bulletins from Manufacturers, Federations, Aviation Authorities,
APF and the International Parachuting Commission (IPC) can be
found linked off the Rigging & Equipment Portal on the APF
web site at: Rigging and

|
|
On the 16th
September on her 8th birthday, Mia Begic (Yr 2) made a tandem
skydive with her father Tom at Skydive Oz' Moruya DZ to place her
in the record books under the Notable Events category, as
Australia's youngest female skydiver. Her brother Zhan (Yr 4)

his 10th birthday.

and Zhan Begic - Photo by Jules McConnel)
These
skydives have been made after the club through the Chief
Instructor made successful application to the APF under the
powers of APF Op. Reg 3.4.
This record
was previously held by Elise Brown who made her 1st tandem
skydive at the age of 9 at Sydney Skydivers in December 2009.
The APF
maintains a register of
parachuting records. Three major categories apply:
- Competition Records
- Performance Records
- Events occasionally
occur which fall outside these categories. These are recorded
as Notable Events.
