It's Conference Time Again!
The
2012 APF Annual Conference venue and dates have now been
confirmed! Next year the Conference will be held
on the 7th, 8th and 9th of May at Mantra on Salt
Beach at Kingscliffe, NSW (just south of the Gold Coast
Airport.) Make sure you keep the dates free! Prepare for
entertaining workshops, great prizes, cocktails, beach, surf,
sun and sand and of course....a whole lot of fun.

Administrative Updates
New Technical Director Appointments: Director Instructor and
Director Safety
The
APF is pleased to announce the appointments of Ralf Jaeger as
Director Instructors (DI) and Richard Petters as Director Safety
(DS). Ralph and Richard will bring experience and enthusiasm to the
Technical Directorate and the APF wishes them all the best in their
new positions. The APF would also like to extend a big thank you to
outgoing Directors Don Cross (DI) and Paul Osborne (DS) for the
time and effort they have invested in improving our
sport during their period as Technical Directors. Don and
Paul, thank you for your dedication and commitment. Your
contribution is greatly appreciated.
APF National Office
Christmas Closure
The National Office will be closed from 5pm
23rd of December 2011. We will be returning on 3rd
January 2012. A reminder to make sure you have everything
up-to-date before the Christmas break!
The APF Annual Board Meeting took place on November
16/17 2011 at the National Office in Brisbane. Over a
productive two days the Board discussed and debated a variety
of important issues, and made a number of positive resolutions that
will keep our sport heading in the right direction. Thank you to
all the Board Members for their input over the two days.

2011 South Queensland
Regional Championships: FS and VFS

The 2011 South Queensland Regional
Championships were held at Ramblers Parachute Centre, Toogoolawah
on the 19th and 20th of November. Competitors battled it out over
the two days to win the title for their respective team
events. After a tight contest the following winning teams were
determined:

3rd Dubai International Parachuting
Championships
The 3rd Dubai International Parachuting
Championships started yesterday on 29 November and are set to continue for
two weeks until December 10 2011. The event will feature
the best skydiving athletes from around the world, including some
of our very own home-grown skydiving heroes!

Piloting: Andy Woolf, Ben Lewis, Darren Griggs, Glenn Farrell,
Luke Oliver, Robbie McMillan, Steve Ivin and Tom Gilmartin
- Accuracy

Graeme Windsor, IPC President,
is also heading out to Dubai for the competition. Ray Williams
will be attending in the capacity of an IPC appointed Judge.
The
Dubai Para¡©chut¡©ing & Gulf Cup has grown over the past three
years to become arguably the most rec¡©og¡©nized sky¡©div¡©ing and para¡©chut¡©ing
com¡©pe¡©ti¡©tion in the world today. We wish all of our delegates the
best of luck and look forward to welcoming them home in two
weeks time (hopefully with some new titles!)
